Never has a $36 hotel room looked so good.
The Loneliest Road was indeed lonely, particularly after finding out the Border Inn had no rooms and setting back out in the bleak darkness. The drive from Border, NV to Delta, UT was painful both physically and psychologically. I nearly gave up hope when the first two hotels in Delta were full (apparently there's both a classic cars show AND a rodeo in town - I may attend the rodeo if I can find it tomorrow). Thankfully, the Budget Motel is here to provide a nice firm bed, a bathtub and nice bathroom soap, a parking spot for my poor exhausted BonBon, and some TV to stare at blankly.
And now, sleep. Tomorrow, possibly the rodeo, and then onward to Capitol Reef National Park.
