Off to DC!

morleyroarlyI'm headed off to DC for a few days for a seminar about retaining walls. The company is paying for everything, woohoo! And I get to see my old hometown and hang out with my best friend since kindergarten, Courtney.
Sadly, this means leaving my dear![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
avocado_tom for a few days. I know it will be good for us to spend some time apart (absence making the heart fonder and whatnot) but still, I'll miss him. The past week has been truly spectacular - our weekend joys and journies with dgdlib breathed new life into our home and our day-to-day and I've been riding a wave of new closeness since Saturday. It feels great to be back in that shiny-happy-googly-oogly headspace again!
In other news, we planted our garden... or, I should say, Tom planted 80% of our garden and I sewed a few wildflower seeds and planted some basil, mint and snapdragons. When the plants mature we'll have tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, chocolate red bell peppers, golden bell peppers, habaneros, herbs and flowers. Huzzah for gardening!
Speaking of gardening, off I go to water the plants before heading to work.
Big smooches to all of you out west, and bigger smooches to all my new east coast homies!
