Paul Van Dyk in Tokyo

Last night I went with an American friend to see/hear Paul Van Dyk spin at club Unit in Ebisu, Tokyo.

I'm glad I went, though my main realization of the evening was that no matter where you are in the world, trance is trance and clubs are clubs and I'm not a huge fan of either. I'm a breakbeat in the desert kind of girl.

Still, I can add "Paul Van Dyk in Tokyo" to my list of intriguing musical experiences!

Sweet.
Your travel digests give me wanderlust. :-)
Thanks for sharing!
(And see you in the desert...?)

What a great adventure. so cool. I love reading your posts. And yes, I totally relate. Ugh, trance, yay breaks - on the playa - at dawn.

I supposed you'd HATE to hear about PVD spinning a breakbeat sunrise set at the base of a volcano...

...In Mexico huh.

Yer right. Totally boring!

(granted I'm not asserting that an outdoor sunrise set is a club set, but that he can be a pretty versatile DJ, and has some great breaks records out there hes remixed"

yarr!
